There are times when the court may intervene and order an evaluation for either substance use issues or mental health concerns. If you have received a court order (signed by a judge) to receive either a mental health or substance-use evaluation you will need an evaluation by a licensed practitioner to fulfill the order. During the evaluation, you will participate in an interview that may include comprehensive questions, risk assessments, questionnaires, and tests of basic tasks. Additionally, your history and current level of need is assessed and incorporated into a document that is then returned to the court. You can anticipate a list of recommendations for future treatment to be included as part of the evaluation.
